- Yard opens at 7pm. Show starts at dusk. - The Night-Sky is equipped with speakers on the fence line for sound, and we transmit on 650AM, (you must bring a radio and headphones if you want to listen to the broadcast) - Popcorn and soda is served on the deck. - As we all know it can get cold in this part of the country at night especially if we are doing a double feature, please dress accordingly, blankets are good idea too. - Please bring a lawn chair or a blanket, as we do not typically provide seating. - Our usual season is late May though September depending on weather. |
- Dogs are welcome at the theatre provided that they are friendly, and kept on a leash. - Because the theater is on a hill, it can get slippery when it rains, because of this we do occasionally have to cancel a movie night for the safety of the guests and the lawn. - - This Theatre is NOT open to the public. It is a PRIVATE theatre only, used for viewing TV shows and movies in my backyard. The only way you can see a movie here is if you know me and are invited. This website is basically just for fun, because if you know me, you already know how this works and if you stumbled on to this website from a search engine, I obviously don't know you and I won't be inviting you, but you are more than welcome to look around the website. |
- Last but certainly not least, this is a family friendly environment, sit back relax and enjoy the movie
Technical Information -
Projection is provided by a 1,500 lumen projector that is a 4.3 aspect projector. We have approximately a 20 foot throw distance from the projector to the screen, for an estimated brightness of about 6 foot lamberts. Media is provided by a dual deck VCR system, so it could be said that we are still showing movies on film.
The screen is wood framed and plywood faced, painted with flat white paint. Built in the mid-1990's it's the theater's original screen and measures 9' X 12'
For audio the Night-Sky is equipped with speakers mounted on the fence line. The audio leaves the VHS system and runs into an Altec tube type mono amp, my guess is that unit is from the 60's. The speaker wiring leaves the amp and goes into a splitter, from there it runs into the ground with one channel running to the fence on the right and the other to the left. There are 4 speakers on each fence for a total of 8 speakers. Additionally the Night-Sky broadcasts it's sound on 650AM.
